Each of the four session times at the Learning on the Lakeshore 2017 conference, attendees can choose from 19 different sessions or visit a hands-on help room - for over 70 choices! Attend a breakout session for just what you want to learn - whether you're an elementary teacher, secondary teacher, or administrator. Conference presenters include local teachers and administrators sharing their experiences, as well as tech experts coming in to present from across the the state and region. Due to low enrollment, the Learning on the Lakeshore Preconference Workshops scheduled for Tuesday, August 15, 2017 are cancelled. We apologize if the cancellation has caused you any inconvenience. The 1/2 day workshops were offered to meet requests for longer, hands-on sessions which go deeper into a topic. Note: presenters at the LOTL Conference have been encouraged to include hands-on practice in their 60 minute breakout sessions as appropriate. There will be number of door prizes awarded at the LOTL Conference during lunch. The REMC SAVE Bid has donated a Lenovo N23 Yoga Chromebook as a door prize. Inacomp TSG, a REMC Device Purchase vendor, has donated a HP 11" G5 EE "rugged" Chromebook as a door prize. CDW-G another REMC Device Purchase vendor, donated Acer 740C Chromebook as a door prize. Attendees and presenters are all eligible to win door prizes including a new Chromebook. Acer donated a Chromebook as a door prize for the "Invite a Friend - Win a Chromebook" promotion (see blog post for more information.)
The Learning on the Lakeshore Conference offers more than 70 different sixty minute breakout sessions with something for every learner. There are breakout sessions for elementary teachers, science teachers, administrators, Google Classroom and Schoology users, and more. Whether you are a newbie or a tech using veteran, a Chromebook or iPad users, you'll find breakout sessions to meet your needs. Many of the breakout sessions include time to practice what you learn - so be sure to bring a device if possible. Note: some loaner Chromebooks will be available at registration. With a goal to allow everyone to attend the LOTL Conference, childcare will be available during the August 16 conference and August 15 preconference workshops as a service of the Mona Shores Early Childhood Center at Ross Park Elementary. Check the box when you register to be emailed more information from the Center. Cost $30; $25 for each additional child with payment made directly to the Center.

The ever changing world of educations is filled with fear and failure. As educators, we are tasked with helping our students navigate these "F" words, but what about us? We need to face these "F" words with our own: Fun! Let's talk about adding Fun back into the classroom and fighting Fear and embracing Failure.
Muskegon's famous Shoreline Inn is offering a special LOTL group rate of $119/night (plus taxes and fees) for August 15 and/or August 16. To receive this rate, reservations must made by July 25th.
